Our Life Afloat: Adventures on Our 41′ Columbia Sailing Boat
Let me tell you a bit about our life on the water. We live on this awesome 41′ Columbia sailing boat that we bought back in 2015. It was a solid find, but it definitely needed some love, so we jumped into a refitting project that took us all the way until 2020 to finish.
Once we finally wrapped up the renovations, we couldn’t wait to set sail! In 2021, we made our maiden voyage to the Bahamas, and let me just say—it was epic. We ended up living aboard for a glorious 7 months, soaking up the sunshine, exploring the beautiful islands, and getting lost in the crystal-clear water. We managed to sail around most of the Bahamas, finding little hidden coves and charming spots that felt like they were straight out of a dream.
Every day brought a new adventure, and we loved meeting fellow sailors and locals who shared their own stories of life on the water. It was honestly one of the best experiences we’ve ever had, and we can’t wait to see where our boat takes us next!

From Land to Sea: Our Journey into the Yachting Industry
So, we’ve got some exciting news to share! We successfully made the leap into the yachting industry, and boy, what a ride it’s been! Simon has taken the helm as captain, while I’m onboard as the cook/stew.
We’ve had some pretty cool experiences, working on the same boat together from time to time. It’s always a blast when we’re both there, but we’ve also had our own adventures on different yachts. The best part? We’ve been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places while doing what we love.
Working on a yacht is seriously unlike anything else—it’s a blend of hard work, breathtaking views, and some unforgettable moments. I mean, who wouldn’t want to whip up a meal with the ocean as their backdrop? It’s truly an incredible and unique experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything.
